Examining the interplay between service design and entertainment.

Service Design as Entertainment [SD:E] asks what can service design learn from the world of entertainment? By adopting qualities of entertainment such as humor, narrative, and play, I believe the daily interactions we have with services can not only serve our needs but also enrich our lives in playful and poetic ways. I hope to demonstrate enjoyment of use is more important than ease of use.

Entertainment as Service Design [E:SD] asks how service design can save the entertainers? I am exploring new economic models for pervasive gaming, designing games as services rather than boxes of software, and forging partnerships with commercial stakeholders instead of traditional in-game advertising.
